Case : Virtual IP's Applications

A bilingual computer education kindergarten would like to provide classroom-monitoring images to parents at home or at work, This allows parents to understand the education process with the school.

This is what they have now:
  1. Traditional monitoring system including 12 cameras, three quarter-image-dividers, and three 24-hour VCR.
  2. There is no IT person who is familiar with networking
  3. 10 computer stations for classroom purposes.
  4. The school wants to show parents 10 classrooms.
Proposed Solution:
  1. Obtain ADSL network access, and one legal IP space.
  2. Obtain on IP server (provides 6 terminals for NAT change functions) and two HUB's
  3. Install 8 complete e-Lar Monitoring Systems in the existing computer stations and connect with existing monitoring cameras with the computer imaging systems.
Reason for Proposal:
  1. Since there is no existing IT person, and the employment of such is very costly, we advise against setting up their own ISP station to minimize cost and maintenance. e-Lar systems do not require ISP station, and allows all computer stations to function as monitor stations easily and inexpensively.
  2. Even though there is not enough legal IP space, using an IP server plus e-Lar System along with NAT change function, we can connect all 10 computer stations for 10 classrooms.
  3. e-Lar provide network imaging without affecting classroom functions.
  4. Each classroom receives individual username and password for added security.
  5. Parents can access the network with IE or Netscape browsers. There is no need to install or learn new software programs.
Implementation:
For the Kindergarten: Set up e-Lar system to auto execute all on/off, start/stop, recording/viewing functions, and auto connect to the internet and minimized function.
For Parents: Use browsers (IE of Netscape) to access the classroom website, then enter the classroom password and username.
