Case
2: Multiple Location Monitoring and Network User
A
certain transportation company wanted to provide their head
quarters and station managers??information on how each station
is functioning. This makes it easy for management and labor
effectiveness. They also want to store the images as digital
files. This is what they have now:
|
| |
1. |
All
stations have computer stations and traditional monitoring systems.
|
| |
2. |
Each
station has one computer station, but need to simultaneously
use management software and digital monitoring functions. |
| |
3. |
Head
quarters want to display all station images on a television
wall, and it needs to be as inexpensive as possible. |
| Proposed
Solution: |
| |
1. |
Each
station needs to obtain ADSL network access and install e-Lar
Monitoring systems into their computers. |
| |
2. |
Each
station will use the network function provided with e-Lar software,
and be able to monitor different stations at the same time. |
| |
3. |
Head
quarters need to install four complete computer systems including
keyboard, mouse, and screen monitor, and four PC to TV adaptor
to transfer digital images from the computer to the television
wall. |
| Reason
for Proposal: |
| |
1. |
There
is no need to purchase additional computers or other network
equipments, does not impact the operation of existing software,
and allows each station to transmit images to other stations
for monitoring.(Also every inexpensive) |
| |
2. |
e-Lar
Systems transfers images into digital recordings, and do not
need personnel management for automatic re-circulating recording. |
| |
3. |
Each
station manager can access all stations with networking functions,
without memorizing their IP addresses. They can also monitor
different station function setting, and display multiple stations
on one screen. |
| |
4. |
Head
quarters only need one PC to display Four station monitored
on the television wall, which saves equipment and cost. |
| Implementation: |
For
Head Quarter: Access each station's IP address and input username
and password to display monitoring image onto the television
wall.
For each Station: Input username and password at each station's
IP address, and display multiple stations on one screen. |
